For the past three weeks, I’ve been eagerly anticipating my first occasion to lead Fall Creek in worship. I’m expecting great things for this congregation—not only this day but in the months ahead.
On Sunday Dr. Jo Anne Lyon will bring a message entitled “Greater Things” based on John 14:12. I’ve been pondering that passage this week, and it gives me goosebumps to think that these words apply to us, “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
Here is what I’m asking God on behalf of this church. I pray that we may have greater unity than ever before, that we may be one in our desire to please God and do his will, and that we will become transformed people who have a transforming effect on the world around us.
Great things are going to happen in our lives and in this community, greater than what we have yet imagined. I’m thrilled to be part of it.
In invite you to read John 14 over the next couple of days and think about the “greater things” that we will experience in the days ahead.
