About Me

I am senior pastor at Fall Creek Wesleyan Church, a thriving, missional congregation northeast of Indianapolis. And I have written several books on Christian spirituality.

This is my personal blog, which is focused on church leadership and the Christian life. My aim is to raise the issues we all need to be thinking about and consider how they apply to our lives and ministry. If you are intentional about growing in the Christian life or leading a congregation, this blog is for you.

I believe we all become stronger when we share ideas an learn from one another, so I hope you'll become a reader and commenter. I look forward to interacting with you.

This blog is updated 4–5 times a week, so you should subscribe by RSS or e-mail to keep up on the latest content and ideas. You may also want to subscribe to my sermon audio. Messages are about 25 minutes in length, perfect for a run on the treadmill.

Contact me by e-mail or Twitter. I'm happy to interact on blog topics as time permits, and always welcome prayer requests.

My Biography

I have been in ministry for nearly all of my adult life, serving as a pastor for over 14 years and as editorial director at Wesleyan Publishing House for about seven years.

Currently I am senior pastor at Fall Creek Wesleyan Church, where I'm privileged to lead a growing, missional congregation of Christ followers. I believe that Jesus Christ has the power to transform lives, and that's the focus of my preaching, teaching, and writing.

I am a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.), where my studies focused on the New Testament. I am now pursuing doctoral studies at the Anderson University School of Theology, a great program that is helping me tackle the challenge of doing evangelism in suburban Indianapolis.

My wife, Heather, is a best-selling author, speaker, and the love of my life. We have a blended family of six children, two in high school, two in college, and two in the military.
